I never got to go, but heard it is a nice campus with a rooftop bar and views.
Uetliberg
Need to go up for sunset.
One of the best sunset spots in my life.
Public transport gets you within a 10-minute walk, and there are many hikes / trails.
China Garden Zurich
Garden itself is not super special, but the boardwalk extends far into the lake and the green area can be bustling on the right day.
Lindt Chocolate Factory
Worth it for the free samples and interactive experience.
The cafe mocha was the best mocha I have ever had.
Lake Zurich
Rent a boat, paddle board, swim, or do some water activity.
Beautiful town with Lake Lucerne in the center.
I believe the train is around $50 and about 1 hour each way.
Nearby cities
Rent a car and explore.
I do not think you can spend more than 2 days in Zurich without running out of things to do.
Car rental
Cheaper than expected.
I used Kayak and found good deals, but watch young driver fees.
Lauterbrunnen
Easy 2-3 day trip.
Around 2-3 hours from Zurich and not a difficult drive.
Explore the lakes in Interlaken, walk around Lauterbrunnen, and take the train up to Wengen.
Skiing
Ski if the weather is nice enough.
Rhine Falls
Super underrated and the largest plain waterfall in Europe.
Train is around $50 and about 1-2 hours, or you can drive.
Rhine Falls summer
Tours are not super expensive, and people swim when weather is right.
On the German / Swiss border, so you can venture into Germany.

Great nightclub with cover, but they take card.

Genuinely no recs; did not find a single restaurant I enjoyed enough to recommend.

Extremely expensive, so there is value in buying food from Coop and cooking at your Airbnb.

Public transport is clean, fast, extensive, and very affordable for Swiss prices.
Uber
Exists but is not super necessary.
Where to stay
Airbnb Zurich
Stayed in one each time.
Definitely pricier, but well-worth every time.
Lake Zurich
Stayed on both the east and west sides of the lake and didn't feel much difference.
Don't stay too far south or commutes probably start to get annoying.
