Rossio Square

Lisbon: Things to do

Santa Luzia viewpoint

One of many viewpoints, but I really enjoyed this one.

Restaurant next to it looks lavish; good food and good prices, but they only took Euros when I went.

Miradouro da Senhora do Monte

Did not have time, but got this rec from lots of folks.

Another good viewpoint about 10 minutes from Miradouro da Graca with a garden in between.

Belém tower

Really nice water views and perfect for sunset.

Coast walk

Easy to walk along the coast and check out Padrao dos Descobrimentos.

Pasteis de Belem

Good route from the coast walk.

Santuario Nacional do Cristo Rei

Smaller version of the Brazil one.

Heard sunset was amazing from a Portuguese Uber driver.

Rossio Square

Had Christmas markets, lights, and music when I went.

Great walking connector to other areas.

Elevador de Santa Justa

Nearby connector; do not be afraid to get lost here.

Sintra

Take a day for the palace.

Cheap 45-minute train; aim for 11 AM tickets for lower crowds and better weather.

Sintra transit

Do not pay for the bus from train station to palace.

Sintra palace / gardens

Spend a while in the palace, get the cheap pastries, then get lost in the massive gardens if weather allows.

Lagos

2.5-hour drive if renting a car.

We had a great Airbnb near the coast; text me if you want the link.

Lagos boat tour

Main highlight was a 2-hour Atlantis Tours boat tour through Benagil caves, beaches, and Algarve.

Lagos pacing

Stay 2-3 days max and chill on beaches, weather permitting, while eating and drinking.

Lisbon: Food

Manteigaria

Egg tarts are a must and this was my favorite place.

Walking around this area is beautiful too.

Timeout market

Culturally diverse market with lots of crazy good food stalls, seating, AC / heat, and cool decor.

In Timeout Market.

Get the Teddy Boy; genuinely the best sandwich I have ever had and well-priced.

Leve Leve tapas bar

Did not go, but got it recommended.

Cheap tapas with drinks; try to reserve beforehand.

Restaurante Diyalo

Really good Nepalese place we went to.

Momos were fire.

Sao Jorge

Nice Portuguese place we went to without a reservation; homey, quality food and apps.

Mc Donald's

Aight here, nothing special.

Transport

Uber

Cheap rideshare option.

Metro

Not fully developed but also cheap.

Tuk tuks / random vehicles

Fun but can get expensive, around 60 euros/hour from what

I remember.

What we did

Walked and Ubered besides the Sintra train and Lagos drive, and I do not regret it.
