Barcelona

Things to do

Sagrada Familia

Most beautiful architectural structure I've seen.

Park Güell

Reserve ahead; great walking areas, city views, and architecture.

La Rambla

Bustling shopping and urban area.

Mercat de la Boqueria

Food market with a lot of local food and shops.

Barcelona Cathedral

Beautiful from the outside and free to enter.

Courtyard is a nice quick exploration.

3 euro exhibit with city / cathedral views; my sister and brother-in-law loved it.

Casa Batlló

Exterior is an absolute work of art, especially at night with the lights.

Gaudi context

One of Gaudi's masterpieces; he shaped a huge amount of Barcelona.

Barceloneta Beach

Did not make it because of time / cold, but heard it was beautiful.

Parc de la Ciutadella

Right by Barceloneta and worth pairing if you are nearby.

Food

Telefèric

Best tapas I had so far.

Solid portions, slightly pricey; duck ravioli is a must.

Mayura

Went to satisfy parents, but it was honestly great.

Good price, great portions, beautiful interior, and highly rated.

Taco Bell

Solid and different from the U.S.; they had quesarito and other items not in the U.S.

Food markets / local places

Better way to cover ground than fewer large meals.

Not sure you can go wrong.

Transport

Metro pass

Definitely a move; easy to navigate and good reach.

Metro zoning

Understand zoning before buying a zone-specific pass.

My 48-hour pass was zone-agnostic.

Uber

Cheaper than expected.
